PROJECT DETAILS

The Street to School Initiative by Fulfilling Your Destiny Foundation empowers vulnerable children, including those living on the streets, by providing access to quality education and holistic support. Together, we can transform lives by bridging the gap between hardship and hope, ensuring every child has the opportunity to fulfill their destiny.

Project Description

This project aims to enroll and sponsor 1000 children through primary and secondary education, starting in September 2025. Parents and guardians will be sensitized on the importance and urgency of education to ensure continuous participation and commitment.

Project Justification

Nigeria is facing a growing crisis of out-of-school children. According to UNICEF, 17.81 million children were out of school in 2023, and by 2024, this number had risen to 18.30 million. Northern Nigeria bears the heaviest burden, with 15.23 million out-of-school children, while the southern region accounts for 2.58 million.

To put this into perspective, Nigeria’s out-of-school population exceeds the total population of six Nigerian states combined. On a broader scale, this number is greater than the entire population of six African countries, including Gabon (2.5M), Namibia (2.6M), Botswana (2.7M), Lithuania (2.7M), Gambia (2.8M), and Jamaica (2.8M).

This alarming trend highlights an urgent need for intervention to ensure that every child has access to quality education, breaking the cycle of poverty and securing a better future for the next generation.

Scope

The project will ensure 1000 children return to school within three years, starting in September 2025, and are sustained through their primary and secondary education.

Key Activities

Survey & Data Collection – Identifying out-of-school children and assessing their needs.
Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
Enrollment – Admitting children into schools and ensuring necessary resources are provided.
Monitoring & Evaluation – Regular assessments to ensure the effectiveness of the program.
Reporting – Providing quarterly updates on progress and impact.
Project Termination – Ensuring sustainability beyond the project’s timeframe.

Sustainability Plan

Monitoring and evaluation will continue with quarterly reports until each child completes secondary education. This project is aligned with the Street to School Initiative, reinforcing FYDF’s mission to empower vulnerable children through education and long-term support.

Operation 40 Wheelchairs is a flagship initiative of Fulfilling Your Destiny Foundation (FYDF) that is dedicated to empowering individuals with physical disabilities by providing them with essential mobility aids. Through this program, we aim to ensure that those with mobility challenges can regain their independence, dignity, and the ability to navigate the world around them with confidence.

Transforming Lives Through Mobility

For many individuals with physical disabilities, access to a proper wheelchair can be life-changing. It not only offers the gift of mobility but also opens doors to opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Whether it’s the ability to go to school, find work, or simply move freely in the community, a wheelchair restores freedom and possibilities.

Operation 40 Wheelchairs aims to provide 40 high-quality wheelchairs each year to individuals who are in dire need. Our goal is not just to deliver a physical aid, but to offer the gift of dignity, self-reliance, and a sense of belonging.

Bridging the Gap Between Limitations and Opportunities

The reality for many individuals living with mobility challenges is that opportunities are often out of reach due to the lack of mobility aids. Barriers such as inaccessible transportation, limited job opportunities, and the inability to attend school or access healthcare facilities often hold them back from reaching their full potential.

By providing mobility support, we create a bridge between the limitations caused by physical disabilities and the opportunities that individuals deserve.
